Leah graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with distinction in 2010, and went on to complete her Masters Degree in Physiotherapy in 2012. Leah’s career as a Physiotherapist started out working with the pediatric population, including children that had neuromuscular syndromes and Autism spectrum disorder. She continued to have a passion for children, but began treating adults with musculoskeletal complaints such as neck and low back pain. It was here where she became quite interested in treating pelvic and low back pain in women that were pregnant, or early in the postpartum period.
In 2014, Leah relocated to Brisbane, Australia, where she had an opportunity to further her training in Pilates, rehabilitative exercise and Women’s health. Here, she gained experience treating a variety of conditions including: Pelvic girdle pain, urinary incontinence and urgency, and low back pain during pregnancy and post-partum period.
She utilities a whole body approach with patients, with a strong focus on manual therapy, integrated dry needling, and functional exercise to improve core and pelvic girdle strength to prevent future dysfunction.
Her postgraduate certifications include: Orthopedic level 1, Pilates, Integrated dry needling, Women’s Health and Yoga Teacher Training.
She is passionate about spreading the word about Women’s health, and helping her patients to reach their goals!
