Shannon’s journey with biomechanics and the mind/body connection began at a young age as a competitive figure skater. Her years of figure skating facilitated her understanding of the connection between core stability, strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness, artistry and controlled movement.
With a passion for health and fitness, she embraced weight training and running. Dealing with Plantar Fasciitis for many years, Shannon discovered Pilates as a full body low-impact solution to continue building strength, tone muscles, increase flexibility and improve balance.
With 25 years of experience as a teacher and school administrator, Shannon combined her passions for fitness, teaching and leadership to obtain Comprehensive Pilates Certification in Mat, Reformer, Springboard, Chair, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Barre and Magic Circle. She is also a certified Barre Above with Pilates Focus Instructor. Shannon has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary and Master of Education Degree from the University of Portland.
Shannon is passionate about helping others to become their strongest, healthiest and most balanced self and believes that everyBODY can increase their own personal fitness level. She believes that "movement keeps you young"!
